Promoting Pet Adoptions and Welfare in Sulphur Springs
Our Mission:
PPAWSS is a group of local, concerned animal lovers that would like to make a difference in our community by lowering the number of dogs and cats being euthanized needlessly at local Animal Shelters.
One mission is to continue to help local Euthanizing Shelters
(including but not limited to: Sulphur Springs, Commerce, and Greenville)
increase adoptions and lower the number of adoptable pets being euthanized by rescuing when possible and increasing the awareness of Adoption.
We will continue to work with the Hopkins County Animal Protection League and continue to inform the community about the urgency of spaying and neutering pets.
Our long term goal is to build a shelter and we will be able to rescue even more dogs and cats scheduled to be euthanized at local shelters.
However, we will not embark on this mission until we are prepared.
The HSUS estimates that 3 to 4 million dogs and cats are euthanized at shelters each year.
As animal lovers, this has alarmed us and pushed us to take action.
If we all work together, we can make a difference.

PPAWSS offers those age 60 or older an opportunity to adopt a dog or cat at a discounted rate through Purina’s Pets for Seniors program.
